I am an enthusiastic and self-motivated IT support technician with over 6 years of commercial experience solving a wide variety of computing problems for both business and home users. Proven competency in all areas of IT, retail and day-to-day business, demonstrating the ability to run a small company single-handedly when required. Able to research and learn new skills when necessary to solve issues efficiently. I have a wide range of skills that compliment my IT support background including web development, 3D modelling, programming and audio/visual. Keen interest in all things technology and computing related including gaming, hardware performance, 3D environments and VR. Currently out of work due to unforeseen company closure, I am looking for the right opportunity to bring my knowledge and abilities to an interesting and productive workplace.

IT Technician / Director – Tech Help Ltd, Ashton-under-Lyne
(August 2010 – May 2016)

Running a computer servicing workshop and retail store front supporting both home and business users. Served as company director for the latter 4 years.

Duties

  • Supporting businesses and the general public in all areas of IT
  • Solving technical issues in-store, remotely or via field visit
  • Repair and maintenance of all types of electronic equipment
  • Carrying out relevant diagnostics, research and purchasing to solve issues independently
  • Creating and following internal procedures to ensure that all work carried out was to a high and consistent standard
  • Management of retail/workshop premises
  • Creation and maintenance of the company’s bespoke service database
  • Design of the company’s signage graphics, marketing materials and website
  • Administration and monitoring of a small internet cafe in-store

Web Development – Set Up and Grow, Glossop
(October 2009 – October 2015)

Designing and maintaining a business advice website, updating as necessary, incrementally creating a final self-sustaining product.

Duties

  • Design of the initial bespoke content management system using PHP and MySQL based systems
  • Search Engine Optimisation and competition tracking
  • Incremental updates to increase functionality including support for payment systems such as Paypal
  • Migration to a WordPress based system without losing key features
  • Progession towards a ‘final’ product which allowed the user to control layout and content creation easily
  • Minor changes and bug fixing until the final stable solution was achieved

3D Modelling and Design – Procedural Dreams, Glossop
(August 2008 – September 2010)

Freelance 3D modelling and animation for various customers including property developers and medical researchers.

Duties

  • Design and creation of 3D models from customer specification
  • Models produced accurately to scale for numerous uses
